Hi,
Congratulations on recreating the feel and gameplay of one of my all-time favourite Amiga games - it's shaping up to be one of the slickest remakes I've seen.
The reason I'm posting though is to ask about the background music. I'm sure I've heard it (or something very similar before) and the OCD part of me needs to know where. It would be right at home in a Hugh Grant romantic comedy, or some other sentimental melodrama. Maybe that's why it's ringing bells in my head.
Was it inspired by another piece or is it just concidence?
Thanks for clearing that up for me. Kahra has managed to capture that ambience perfectly; she's very talented.

Like much good music it's original but sounds familiar. All the music in The Kiwi's Tale is original and was created by an awesome sounder designer, Kahra Scott-James, and some of her students. Some may have been tracks that they had lying around, designed to communicate certain moods. Her soundstudio is http://www.entirelysound.com/
The happy guitar strumming of the first level music is very happy, summer-time in New Zealand in feel , rather than the happy chip-music of the original NZ Story arcade game.
